Kosher CoShare
“Cook together. Share calmly.” A community where people post, discover and organise kosher recipes — with the social features of a network and the speed of an app.

The challenge
Recipe sites are noisy: ads, life stories, endless scrolling. Kosher home cooks also need to know at a glance whether a dish is pareve, meat, nut-free or kosher for Pesach. The goal was a calm, fast place to share — which meant real social features (profiles, posting, voting, saving) without the clutter, and a data model that stays quick as the library grows.
How it works
- Sign inGoogle account
One tap to join; avatars and names come from the account.
- PostNew recipe
Title, cook time, dietary labels and a photo uploaded to cloud storage.
- StoreDatabase
Recipes, authors, votes and saves are stored as related records.
- DiscoverFeed & search
Fresh posts, “Beloved picks” ranked by upvotes, and full search.
What’s inside
- A real social component: public author profiles, upvotes that drive a “Beloved picks” ranking, saved recipes and a personal “My recipes” collection.
- Dietary labels — Pareve, Meat, Nut-free, Kosher for Pesach — shown on every card so people can scan, not read.
- Image uploads straight to cloud storage, so photos load quickly without slowing the database down.
- Search across the whole library, and a dedicated page for it.
- Installable as a progressive web app: open it from the home screen, with basic pages working offline.
The outcome
A complete community product — accounts, user-generated content, ranking and search — that feels smooth in daily use and is live with real recipes from real cooks. It is the same foundation we use for client platforms that need members, posts and moderation-ready data.
